ATTRACTIONS in Cameroon
The county town of the Adamawa region is Ngaoundéré and the region is quite rightly considered as one of the principal regions for tourism in Cameroon.
This region is located at an average altitude of 1,000m and Adamawa is a sought-after tourist destination with its many superb lakes (including Mbalang and Tison) and its waterfalls (Tello and Vina). Traditionally known as Cameroon’s water tower, all the country’s larger rivers have their source in Adamawa.
It is also a hunting region highly-prized by sport-hunting enthusiasts for whom the right conditions for their favourite pastime can be found here: plenty of game and comfortable camps and ranches.
Ngaoundéré, which lies at the end of the railway line linking the south to the north, is quite a picturesque town with its mosques and the Lamido Palace and its magnificent murals illustrating the characteristic and traditional architecture of the region
